A Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Here we are with another lovely Saturday afternoon. I must say I have dearly loved having the cooler summer weather this year. I am not a lover of hot weather and used to call winter my favorite season. Now I think I will choose fall as my favorite season because now I have to drive to work instead of work from home. Funny how circumstances can change that! But I do love a clear cold winter day. Well, if I'm at home with plenty of provisions, I love a blizzardy day, too.

Today I've been musing some scent blends. I am not one of those folks who immediately knows exactly what's going to go together in a blend; sometimes it happens that way but usually I am missing *one* piece of the potion and have to work with it to get it just right. Today I have a blend that is almost just right but I want something to add a surprise jolt to it. So far I have chosen Frankincense, Myrrh, Amber, Oakmoss, Black Pepper, and then I'm not sure what the last item will be. Suggestions? I have been considering lime and ginger. I may decide it's fine without the extra.

Another one I'm working on is more feminine and will include lemon, gardenia, and something else. I want something light, sparkly, feminine, and just not quite innocent. I am toying with violet or peppermint. Let me know if you have any good suggestions!

I am hoping to start making soap again but I'll work with smaller batches so I don't overtax my shoulder. I have to start in with the basics of lavender goatsmilk; oatmeal, milk, and honey; and sandalwood vanilla but I also want to add a few new things in to keep it fun. Oh and I want to make Chasin' the Blues because I just love that one. :)
